We have only had it installed for a week, but I have to admit I'm pretty disappointed now that I have actually used it. I think it would be better for older kids who could open and close it and operate it through the menus by themselves, but not so much for young kids. It is not front seat friendly. I purchased two Rosen units and one worked for two weeks and the second never worked at all. Then I spent an extra $150 to get this unit by Audiovox. The mounting was a little more difficult but looked nice installed. After the first two, just thankful it works since I had to trim a little more on the headliner on this unit then I did with the others. Screen quality is decent. The only disappointment is the FM transmitter has some background noise that I didn't have on the other unit. I just got this camera and was eager to install it! but, luckily I decided to test it out before I installed it. On my 38" LCD tv, it looked adequate, I didn't have any non HD camera to compare it to, but I could see enough details. However, I soon realized that it wasn't actually 170 degree horizontal viewing angle! Their 170 degree was measured diagonally. Measuring it, I'd say it is between 120-130 degrees (horizontal) only! I didn't bother to measure it's vertical angle. This didn't seem right since other cameras are advertised with the important angle, the horizontal angle of view.
